Important Information From W. R. Cary Engineering Inc.
William
"Bill" R. Cary, 64, died peacefully in his home, on Monday, October 24,
2011, following a battle with cancer. Bill was born in Springfield, MO,
September 22, 1947, to Robert "Bob" and Erma Cary. Following graduation
from Springdale High School, Springdale, AR, he attended: Drury
College, with degrees in Math, Biology and Chemistry, Southwest Missouri
State University with an advanced degree in Chemistry, and Kansas City
College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, MO.
Bill was a commercial pilot, certified in both single and multiengine aircraft, followed by his US Navy
duty that he served proudly from 1967 thru 1975, and traveled the world
as a anti submarine warfare operator, with high security clearance and
an honorable discharge.
Upon returning home from his service duty
he moved to Kansas City, MO, where he was part of the Kansas City board
of Trade. After the passing of his father, he returned to Springfield,
MO, to start his company: W.R. Cary Engineering, Inc. and that allowed
him to spend much of his time in Indianapolis, IN, at the Indianapolis
500 Speedway.
Bill was blessed with a keen inquisitive intellect,
eager to be on the cutting edge of the latest technology. He initiated
various innovative research projects, the results of many focused to
serve our Military and Law enforcement.
Bill had a variety of
interests, including racing his Indy cars and motorcycles, a pilot and
enjoying Gods country with his Rock crawler.
Bill's phrase of "If there is anything I can do for you" was heard repeatedly from his vast knowledge and generosity.
Bill is survived by his wife, Gayla; his mother Erma Cary. He was preceded in death by his father "Bob" Robert Cary.
